Camera and intercom
The 2-rider intercom and the 1080p camera with a Sony lens on the G7+ run at the same time. The maker states about 4 hours of continuous recording, and about 20 hours of intercom and music.
The camera angle adjusts through 360 degrees to set the view once fitted to the helmet. The maker states an intercom range of about 500m, enough for two bikes riding in line on the highway.
On a long trip, pick the pass or the coastal stretch you want to record instead of recording the whole way and draining the battery. Stop the bike before adjusting the camera angle or changing modes.
Photos and clips
To pull a clip from the helmet camera to your phone, the unit transfers photos and video over WiFi through the camera app. HD photo mode captures scenery or a record of an incident on the route. The included memory card stores photos and clips.
Video is for reviewing and cross-checking. Whether it is accepted as evidence is up to the authorities. Pull files once the bike has stopped. Watch the clip during the break, then put the phone away before riding on.
Connection and sound
Over a mountain pass or past buildings in the way, the intercom cuts out. The G7+ reconnects by itself once the two bikes close the gap. Intercom range is about 500m, so ride within 200m of each other and at the legal speed to keep the call clear.
Music sharing lets your riding partner hear the same song on a long stretch. FM radio is for when you want the radio instead of phone music. EQ adjusts the sound to your listening style. On busy roads, CVC noise reduction keeps the conversation clearer.
Prompts come in English and Chinese. No Vietnamese.
