Vietnam’s weather rarely gives warning. Saigon rain hits right at rush hour; northern mountain passes stay foggy all morning. A regular glove soaks through in 10 minutes, leaving cold hands and a numb grip.
The RST451 Drymaster Compass is RS Taichi’s answer — a waterproof ADV glove that still keeps enough dexterity for the horn, gear lever, and brake lever.
Drymaster waterproof membrane
Benefit:
No need to pull over for rain or worry about a wet, slipping grip. Drymaster keeps hands dry through the whole ride, even in sustained heavy rain.
Evidence:
Per RS Taichi, the Drymaster membrane is engineered to block water while letting body moisture escape.
Air-dry the gloves naturally after rain; avoid direct high heat, which can damage the membrane.
TPU protection
Benefit:
Protects the areas most exposed in a fall — knuckles and the edge of the palm — while keeping enough flexibility for the clutch, brake, and throttle.
Evidence:
The RST451 uses a hard TPU knuckle guard and a softer TPU/foam palm pad, per the manufacturer’s specifications.
This is everyday street/touring-level protection, not a substitute for the dedicated carbon armor on Taichi’s racing gloves.
Everyday convenience
Benefit:

How to measure: measure hand circumference at its widest point (excluding the thumb), hand slightly cupped. If between two sizes, size up since the Drymaster lining is thicker than a regular glove.
