The LS2 FF808 Stream II is a dual-visor full-face helmet with a KPA shell and ECE 22.06 marking on the chin strap, priced at 3,190,000đ. The outer visor is Pinlock 70 ready but no insert is included. BigBike weighed size XL with both visors at 1659g. It suits long commutes and weekend touring for riders who want an internal sun visor.
Match your ride
Commuting from Bien Hoa into District 1 against the morning sun, the internal sun visor handles the light change on the same stretch. The FF808 is aimed at riders who want a full-face helmet with an internal sun visor for long commutes and weekend touring. The outer visor is Pinlock 70 ready, so when you need to deal with fog in rain or early mist, you buy a Pinlock insert and fit it. The KPA shell and three shell sizes are the main construction. Two visors cover changing light, but that does not mean a Pinlock insert is in the box.
Riders who ride in rain often and want a Pinlock included will find the FF808 is not the right match.
Weight and fit
BigBike weighed size XL with the outer visor and the internal sun visor at 1659g. For riders who often ride far, that figure is worth holding, since the neck feels the weight when you keep turning your head.
The maker states 1550g with a 50g tolerance. The FF808 uses three shell sizes and multi-density EPS.
The fit is Asian Fit per ls2.vn, so do not take the size you wear in another brand as the standard. The wrong size feels tight from the first try.
BigBike has not tried the FF808 on yet. Other sizes have not been weighed, so come to the shop and try it on before deciding.
Sun visor and Pinlock
Heading up to Ta Dung on a weekend, the road goes from sun to shade, and the internal sun visor is the part you have to work at the right moment. Drop it in sun and raise it before riding into a dark stretch. Note: operate the sun visor with the bike stopped. The outer visor is scratch-resistant, UV-resistant and quick release.
The outer visor is Pinlock 70 ready, but the insert is not in the box. In rain or early mist, buy the insert separately to fit it. Until then, crack the visor open when stopped to let the fog out.
Airflow, liner, buckle, headset
Crossing the Cat Lai ferry at rush hour, the helmet stays on through riding and waiting. Vents sit at the crown and chin, with an exhaust port at the back. The helmet has a breath deflector. There is no chin curtain, so wind still comes in under the chin in rain.
The liner is removable, washable and hypoallergenic. The micrometric buckle is fastened or released with the bike stopped. The ear area has speaker pockets ready for an SCS intercom. A glasses channel is there for riders with prescription glasses. This KPA full-face helmet has no emergency-release cheek pads.
Choose or skip
Choose the LS2 FF808 when you commute far, tour on weekends and want two visors on one helmet. The internal sun visor handles sun, and the outer visor is ready for a Pinlock bought separately when you ride in rain more often.
Skip this model if you often ride in rain and want a Pinlock and chin curtain already in the box. Riders who hold high speed on long stretches should try it on and judge the wind noise for themselves before deciding.
BigBike has not tried the FF808 on. Settle the size only after measuring your head and trying it on at the shop.
