The Kewig SHJ-6 bottle carrier uses a claw clamp for round tubes of 12 to 45 mm. The cage grips a bottle 50 to 80 mm in diameter on its own, and you pull it out one-handed. A security screw holds the claw clamp, not the bottle. Price 360,000 VND.
Self-gripping cage
With the bottle in the underseat box, every drink on a mountain pass means pulling over, switching off and opening the seat. The cage grips a bottle 50 to 80 mm in diameter on its own, with nothing to adjust by hand. The silicone pad inside stops it slipping, and you pull the bottle out one-handed. BigBike has tested it with a bottle of spring water and an insulated flask.
Claw clamp
The bike needs a round tube of 12 to 45 mm for the claw clamp to grip. The security screw tightens with the key in the box and holds the claw clamp on the bike, not the bottle, so take the bottle with you when you park. The cage turns on the pivot at the flange for upright or sideways fitting. BigBike has test-clamped it on a 22 mm handlebar, a crash bar and a Kewig crossbar.
Fitting
The clamping spot needs enough clearance for the whole bottle, and only pull the bottle out once you are off the bike.
Pick the spot → Open the claw clamp → Wrap it round the tube → Tighten the security screw → Turn the cage → Drop the bottle in.
On a rough stretch, put the bottle in the underseat box, because BigBike makes no promise the bottle will not fly out. The box holds the cage, the claw clamp, the screw and washer set and the security-screw key.
The cage grips to the bottle size, no notch to reset when you change bottles.
The claw clamp stays on the bike under a security screw, opened only with the key in the box.
You pull the bottle out one-handed without opening the seat.
The cage turns on its pivot, so you pick upright or sideways to suit the spot.
The security screw does not lock the bottle; take it with you when you leave the bike.
Flat tubes or tubes outside 12 to 45 mm will not take the claw clamp.
The cage cannot grip a bottle outside 50 to 80 mm in diameter.
