The Kewig QG-1 rear camera boom bolts its rail under the rear rack and holds the camera behind the rider. The third-person view gets both rider and bike in the frame. Three sections extend from 44 to 110 cm, and the tip is a 1/4 inch thread. Price 1,115,000 VND.
Third-person view
When the camera only films forward on the road to the highlands, the rider never appears in the footage. A camera behind the rider gets both rider and bike in the frame. The tip of the boom is a 1/4 inch thread, and a camera with a matching thread hole in its base screws straight on. BigBike has fitted an Insta360 X-series camera, and has tried a flag and a signal light on it.
Under the rear rack
The bike must have a rear rack for the rail. The rail bolts to the underside of the rack, below the top case, with the bolt set in the box. A bike that already has two bolts there takes it straight on. For a complicated rack, send BigBike a photo before ordering. BigBike has test-fitted it on an adventure bike with a rear rack and top case.
Installation
The boom has three sections that extend from 44 to 110 cm, each locked by a twist collar.
Bolt the rail → Tighten the bolts → Extend the three sections → Twist the collars to lock → Screw the camera on.
Collapse the boom to 44 cm when you park the bike. The box holds the boom, the rail and the rack bolt set, with no camera.
The boom puts the camera behind the rider to film both rider and bike.
The rail bolts to the rack, so no bare tube is needed for clamping.
Twist collars let you set the boom length to suit the shot.
A bike with no rear rack cannot use this boom.
Fully extended to 110 cm the boom sits high behind the bike; mind it when reversing or going under low spots.
BigBike makes no promise on load or riding speed with the boom raised behind the bike.
