The Kewig HB5 mirror-stalk crossbar uses two clamps that grip the two mirror stalks, 8 to 16 mm in diameter, with no mirror removal. The 22 mm bar runs across the front to clamp a phone holder or a ball clamp onto, and pulls out from 39.4 to 46.5 cm. No need to know the mirror thread. Price 350,000 VND.
On the mirror stalks
Riding a scooter to work every day, you can fit this bar without knowing the mirror thread. The mirror stalk is the round tube running from the mirror base up to the mirror head. Open the clamp, wrap it around the stalk and tighten, with no mirror removal. A scooter with fully covered handlebars still takes it. The 22 mm bar only adds a clamping spot. BigBike has test-clamped the Kewig C2U2 clamp and the Kewig M36-C1S holder onto the bar.
Stalk size and length
Before an early-morning ride in the mist, measure the stalk diameter and the distance between the two stalks. The stalks must be 8 to 16 mm. Pull the two end tubes out or push them in, within 39.4 to 46.5 cm. BigBike has test-fitted it on the two mirror stalks of a motorbike at the shop. Mirrors bolted to the fairing with no tube stalk give the clamps nothing to grip.
Fitting the crossbar
Measure the stalks and the distance between them before fitting. The box holds one crossbar only.
Measure the stalk diameter → Measure the stalk spacing → Pull the bar to size → Open both clamps → Wrap them round the stalks → Tighten both clamps.
Once tightened, readjust the mirrors and give the bar a shake before riding. Then clamp the phone holder or ball clamp onto the 22 mm bar.
Two clamps grip the stalks, so the mirrors never come off during fitting.
Nothing screws into the mirror thread, so there is no thread size to work out.
Pull the two end tubes to match the distance between the stalks.
The mirror bolts stay untouched, and the mirrors need one readjustment once fitted.
Aluminium alloy body, weighs 485 g, black.
The mirror stalks must be 8 to 16 mm in diameter.
The two stalks must sit 39.4 to 46.5 cm apart.
The crossbar does not hold a device. You need to add a phone holder or a ball clamp.
BigBike does not promise the mirrors hold their angle on rough roads, nor a load rating or riding speed.
