The Kewig HB4-L handlebar crossbar uses two clamps on two bare 22 mm sections of the handlebar, giving a 22 mm bar across the front to clamp a phone holder or a ball clamp onto. Turn the middle tube to set the distance between the clamps from 20.3 to 30.5 cm. The bar does not hold a device by itself. Price 465,000 VND.
Two clamps, one bar
Two bare 22 mm stretches of handlebar sit either side of the instrument cluster, and anything clamped to one of them ends up off to that side. The two clamps of the crossbar grip those two stretches, and the 22 mm bar runs straight across the front, adding a clamping spot only. What holds the device is the phone holder or ball clamp you fit. BigBike has test-clamped the Kewig C2U2 clamp and the Kewig M36-C1S holder onto the bar.
Length and angle
Before a trip to Ha Giang, measure the distance between the two spots you plan to clamp: it must fall within 20.3 to 30.5 cm. Turn the middle tube until the bar is the right length, then tighten the two lock nuts. Each end has an angle joint, so tilt the clamp to follow the handlebar and then tighten. BigBike has test-fitted it on a bare 22 mm motorbike handlebar. The clamps take 22 mm only, and scooters with fully covered handlebars go the Kewig H3L base route.
Fitting the crossbar
Before a cargo run, measure the two clamping spots. The box holds one crossbar only, with no holder or ball clamp.
Measure the two spots → Loosen the two nuts → Turn the middle tube → Tilt the two joints → Tighten the two clamps → Tighten the nuts.
Then clamp the phone holder or ball clamp onto the 22 mm bar and give the crossbar a shake before riding.
Turn the middle tube to set the length to the distance between the two clamping spots.
Two angle joints let the clamps tilt to follow the handlebar.
