IN STOCK
This is a full-face helmet with a fibreglass and carbon shell. The maker's page and the visor label state ECE 22.06. The shop scale reads 1.476g for a size L in gloss black. Price 11.500.000d. It suits city and touring riders who want the DVT sun visor, a fitted Pinlock 70 and SOS Medical ID.
Real-world check
Caberg lists a fibreglass and carbon shell certified to ECE 22.06. BigBike weighed a size L in gloss black at 1.476g. The black-grey and black-red versions in the same size came to 1.493g on the shop scale. The supplementary label for size L states 1500g plus or minus 50g, a range of 1.450 to 1.550g. Both shop figures sit inside that range. Caberg's own figure for the Large shell is 1400g plus or minus 50g, or 1.350 to 1.450g.
The shop-scale numbers reflect the versions actually on sale. Caberg's published Large-shell range sits below those readings, so the shop figures are the ones that match the units in stock.
Fit and shell sizes
Caberg builds a Small shell for XS-M and a Large shell for L-XXL. Handling the actual helmet, the shop noted an oval interior, a solid shell and a light feel in hand. A 59 cm head trying size L in gloss black at the shop found it very tight, pressing at the crown and both ears. A 57 cm head in the black-grey size L found it tight at the crown and slightly on the cheeks, but clear of the ears. The aluminium Double D ring fastens by threading the strap through two rings by hand.
Try it on in person, and work the buckle with thick gloves on before you choose.
Visor system
The visor label reads PINLOCK Fitted, meaning the anti-fog insert is already mounted on the main visor. The insert cuts fogging, so you are not forced to crack the visor open and let rain in. Per the maker's page, the DVT sun visor is integrated inside. Coming out of a tunnel or riding into the evening, you drop it with one finger instead of stopping to dig out sunglasses. Caberg also lists a visor lock and a quick-release mechanism: the lock holds the visor closed at speed, and the quick release lets you swap a scratched visor on the spot.
Rescue and lining
The maker's page and the visor label list SOS Medical ID with NFC. Before a long trip you register your medical details, and a helper can read them with a phone. Caberg states the cheek pads have a quick-release system for emergencies, letting rescuers remove the helmet without wrenching the head. Caberg also lists a removable, washable liner and vents at the chin, crown and rear. Back from a tour, you pull the liner out and wash away the sweat. The speaker pockets the shop noted at unboxing come ready for an SCS intercom, with no liner cutting.
Choosing
Pick the Drift Evo II Carbon when you want a fibreglass and carbon shell, the DVT visor, a fitted Pinlock and SOS Medical ID. The ECE 22.06 mark sits on the visor label of the very unit on sale.
For round heads, look at the Caberg Avalon X with its round interior at 3.390.000d; BigBike weighed a size L orange at 1.643g. To compare another oval interior in the same size L, the AGV K3 sells at 7.200.000d and weighed 1.570g on our scale.
Only compare weights within the same size L. How each one hugs your head still takes a try-on, because the two interiors are shaped differently.
BigBike weighed a size L gloss black at 1.476g, inside the supplementary label range.
ECE 22.06 is printed on the visor label, matching Caberg's published listing.
The visor label says the Pinlock comes fitted, so there is nothing to install on delivery.
Per the maker's page, the integrated DVT sun visor covers changing light.
Caberg lists SOS Medical ID NFC together with quick-release cheek pads.
The oval interior can press on round heads; riders sensitive around the temples should try it on first.
With a 59 cm head, the shop found size L very tight, pressing at the crown and both ears.
With a 57 cm head, the shop found size L tight, pressing at the crown and slightly on the cheeks.
The Double D ring must be threaded by hand each time; thick gloves make it awkward.
The SOS system only helps once you have registered and kept your medical details up to date.
Per the label on the visor of the actual unit, the size chart is:
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53-54 cm |
| S | 55-56 cm |
| M | 57-58 cm |
| L | 59-60 cm |
| XL | 61-62 cm |
| XXL | 63-64 cm |
Measure around the head across the mid-forehead and the widest point at the back, tape snug but not tight. Match the exact range on the label and do not guess outside the chart. Send BigBike your measurement and head shape; the shop will hold the right size for you to try.
