Real-world check
In size L with the visor on, BigBike weighed 1.554g. Handling the actual helmet, the shop found a solid shell, an oval interior and a light feel in the hand. The box label confirms this is the Asian Fit version. Colours in the shop match the manufacturer's images, with matte black and gloss white both on sale. Trying it on at the shop, a rider with a 59 cm head found it a snug, comfortable fit that felt light on the head.
You still need to measure your head, then try the helmet on in person to check the hold.
Labels and unboxing
Unboxing, the shop found 5 front intakes, 2 exhausts, speaker pockets, a fabric bag, a manual, a chin curtain and a Pinlock 70 insert. The visor label reads PINLOCK READY, confirming the visor carries the mounting pins; the insert in the box is the shop's own record. The label at the back of the actual helmet reads QUATEST 1. The box label carries a HOMOLOGATION line, a hologram and a QR code for authentication. The supplementary label states compliance with QCVN 2:2021/BKHCN. The label inside the strap carries Italy's E3 mark and the number 062080/P-0016036.
Certification marks do not replace adjusting the strap. You still have to fasten the buckle properly and read the instructions.
Visor system
Stuck for a while on a hot road, you can crack the visor open one notch for airflow without lifting it fully. The quick-release mechanism lets you swap a scratched visor on the spot. BigBike found a Pinlock insert in the box, while the visor label confirms the mounting pins are already fitted. On a cold morning or in the rain, fit the insert to keep fogging from blocking your view. After a long ride the Dry-Comfort liner comes out for washing, so sweat does not carry over to the next time you put it on. Adjustable vents let you open up in muggy weather and close them when it turns.
Wearing and fitting
The Double D ring means threading the strap through two loops every time you put the helmet on. Thick gloves make that awkward, so practise the motion before you ride. The interior leaves a channel for eyeglass arms, so you do not have to pry the cheek pads apart each time. Tucked down on a sports bike, the shell's cut-away collar keeps the rim off your collarbone. The speaker pockets the shop noted at unboxing come ready for an SCS intercom, so the speakers sit flush inside the helmet. You do not have to cut into the liner, and the speakers avoid pressing straight against your ears.
Model choice
Choose the K1S if you want a sporty full-face, an oval interior, the Asian Fit version and a Double D ring. BigBike's unboxing found a Pinlock insert sitting in the box.
For a round head, the shop found the Caberg Avalon X has a round interior and BigBike sells it at 3.390.000d. For another option from the same brand with an oval interior, the shop found the AGV K3 shares that shape and BigBike sells it at 7.200.000d.
Interior shape and price only narrow the field; you still need to measure your head, try the helmet on and check for pressure points before settling on a size.
The shop weighed a whole size L with its visor at 1.554g.
